david and robocop

i work for a design company that creates the visuals for court cases to help explain the case to the jury. most of the time, the things we design are timelines or other printed boards that are similar to the timelines you made in grade school that described the important events in your life such as when you lost your first tooth. but other times we make these full-blown flash interactive and presentations that include video, documents, sound recordings, etc. 

not every case calls for a super high-tech interactive, for example, when the person we are helping is trying to get the point across that they don't have a lot of cash. this is referred to as the 'david and goliath' conundrum.

my coworker, a saleswoman, has to give a presentation about our services to potential clients every now and then. she asked me to jazz up her text-heavy snooze-fest, because apparently i'm one hip chick. so, realizing this is the perfect opportunity have a bunch of lawyers looking at a picture of robocop..i drew this. it makes me giggle.

holy moley, lots of shows!

i just dropped some work off at a gallery last night. it's a pop-up shop called the double feature gallery in lakewood, ohio, and the space is incredible! such a cool little spot, right next to the capitol theater...(and the happy dog is a few blocks up, always a plus).

the opening is this friday: 11/11/11. so go. check it out.

and then on saturday (11/12/11) is the handmade arcarde in pittsburgh! thankfully, i finished the last of the costumes over the weekend. i am super excited for this show!

then, i'll have one weekend off.

but then! starting the thanksgiving weekend, i will be in a marathon crafting fair markets every weekend until new years day. this is a card i made for it.

whew. lots to do.

standing up

this weekend i saw michael ian black at the grog shop with my good friend tom cava...i mean brandino, adina and her dudefriend. it was a pretty good show. i like michael ian black...but..i feel like he does better when he's playing off of someone/doing a bit, like the stella group, or tom cavanaugh and MATES.

but it was a good show, and i had a good time.
this wasn't one of the jokes he did, but it's what i could find on youtubes.
